6.2 Manual adjustment of the brewing pressure
You can adjust and change the brewing pressure at will by turning the adjusting screw choosing a value between
approx. 8.5 and 12 bar.
To adjust the brewing pressure, proceed as follows:
1
Remove the cup warmer tray, take some water out of the group head
2
Place the filter holder with the blind filter into the brewing group
3
Push the coffee switch and read the pump pressure gauge.
4
Choose the desired brewing pressure by turning the adjusting screw. Use a coin or a flat screwdriver for turning.
You can reduce the brewing pressure by turning the screw anti-clockwise and increase it by turning it clockwise.
5
Read the pump pressure gauge to see the adjusted brewing pressure.
6
Now the machine is ready for use again.
6.3 Preparing coffee
Use the filter holder and the correspondent filter (1 cup) for the preparation
of 1 cup and the big filter (2 cups) to prepare two cups.
Make sure that the filter is firmly locked in the filter holder.
Put the ground coffee (with the respective grinding degree for espresso or Café Crème)
into the filter.
Use
1 level measuring-spoon
of coffee for each cup (approx. 7 g).
Do not overfill the measuring-spoon, like shown in the figure aside!
Slightly compress the ground coffee with the tamper. Clamp the filter holder firmly to the group.
Only freshly ground coffee allows an optimal coffee result. Therefore, use a professional coffee grinder. In our
assortment you will find several professional and compact coffee grinders.
Put the cup under the spouts of the filter holder (to prepare two cups, put one cup under each spout).
The coffee preparation can begin after having pressed the coffee switch. The pump pressure gauge indicates approx.
9-11 bar. During coffee preparation, the fresh water is conducted back over the expansion valve. When the cup is
filled, press the coffee switch again on the front panal.
The remaining pressure/water will be discharged into the drip tray by the outlet connection.
6.4 Dispensing hot water
Place an adequate container (with heat-insulated handle) under the steam/ hot water dispenser. By operating the
pump/ hot water switch (“hot water switch”) and opening the valve you can dispense hot water.
6.5 Dispensing steam
With the CASA, you can generate a large amount of steam in order to heat or froth beverages, e.g. milk or punch.
Please follow the instructions as stated below. Do not bring the milk to a boil, otherwise frothing milk will not be
possible. For cappuccino and white coffee preparation, first brew the coffee and
then
start steam dispensing.
For high-pressure steam dispensing, the water in the boiler has to be heated to more than 100 °C.
Important!
Operate the steam switch. The indicator of the pump pressure gauge may move slightly.
Switch on the steam function (the button is pushed).
Open the steam valve for approx. 5 seconds
to reduce the boiler capacity and generate a bigger steam volume.
Repeat this process twice in time slices of 20 seconds.
Immerse the steam nozzle at the end of the steam dispenser in the liquid. Now re-open the steam dispenser and heat
or froth the liquid.
