ECONOMY OPERATION OPTION
The
ECONOMY OPERATION OPTION
minimizes the electric power required to
meet the vapor demand. The factory-installed system keeps the vaporizer off
when natural vaporization rates are adequate to meet the vapor demand. During
this period, vapor is supplied to the load via a bypass vapor line linking the
storage tank and vapor distribution line downstream of the vaporizer. When
natural vaporization can no longer meet the vapor demand due to decreased
tank pressure, the economy operation option automatically energizes the
vaporizer. The vaporizer supplies the demand until natural vaporization is again
sufficient to supply the load. The Auto Restart Function is required for
Economy operation and is included with the system.
Units equipped with the Economy Options have a selector switch for Economy or
Manual operation. When set to Economy Operation the vaporizer operation is
based on the tank pressure and will cycle as necessary to maintain adequate
vapor pressure. When set to Manual Operation the tank pressure switch is
bypassed and the vaporizer is continuously operating and maintaining operating
temperature.
TESTING YOUR ECONOMY OPERATION
1. Determine the storage tank pressure.
2. Determine
the
ON
pressure setting of the pressure switch.
3. Put the Economy/Manual switch in
MANUAL
.
4. Turn the vaporizer power on. The vaporizer should come on.
5. If the tank pressure is higher than the
ON
setting of the pressure switch, put
the Economy/Manual switch to
ECONOMY
and the vaporizer should shut off.
For Division 2 models with indicating lamps the Power ON lamp and
VAPORIZER OPERATING ( Safety Circuit Latched ) Lamps will remain on.
The Inlet Solenoid and Heaters will be disabled until tank pressure drops.
Once the tank pressure drops the Heat ON lamps lights and the Solenoid will
energize after the vaporizer has heated to the solenoid setpoint.
6. If the tank pressure is lower than the
ON
setting of the tank pressure, put the
Economy/Manual switch to
MANUAL
and the vaporizer should stay on.
