the prepared food in the slow cooker and add water or broth. Set the required cooking time and the
temperature.
•
Most meats and vegetables require cooking for 8–10 hours at low or 4–6 hours at high temperature. Some
ingredients are not suitable for slow cooking. Pasta, seafood, milk or cream should be added only at the
end of cooking. Many things – the amount of water or fat, the initial temperature of the food, and the size
of the individual parts of the food that are inserted can affect the optimum cooking time.
•
Foods cut into small pieces cook faster. Gradually, using “trial and error” you will gain the necessary
experience to fully utilize the slow cooker.
•
The cooking of vegetables usually takes longer than the meat, put the vegetables first in the bottom of
the pot.
•
After you finish cooking, leave the lid on the pot and turn it off.
•
All foods should be submerged in broth or sauce.
•
Pre-fried meat and onions will remain more juicy and it reduces the amount of fat in the food. This part is
not necessary in case of lack of time, but it improves the taste.
•
When cooking whole meat, poultry or ham, the shape and size of the meat is important. The meat should
reach at maximum up to 2/3 of the pot and fully submerged in water or broth. If necessary, cut the meat
suitably into 2 parts. The total weight of the meat should not exceed the maximum recommended amount.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Always turn off and unplug the slow cooker before cleaning or storing it. Make sure the slow cooker is
completely cooled before cleaning.
•
The ceramic inner pot can be washed in the dishwasher or with warm water with detergent. Wash the lid
in warm water with detergent. Do not wash it in the dishwasher, it could break. All food residue on the
walls of the ceramic inner pot can be soaked overnight and the next day simply wash it with water with
detergent and rinse.
•
You can wipe the outer parts of the slow cooker with a damp cloth and dry it. Do not use aggressive and
abrasive cleaners or scourers to clean any part of the cooker, as this may damage the surface.
