Safety overheating protection
The temperature sensor monitors the temperature inside the ceramic hob. When excessive temperature is
detected, the hob automatically shuts down.
Warning about hot surfaces
The “H” symbol warns about an excessive temperature of the cooking zone. When the surface
cools down to a temperature safe for touching, the indicator disappears. You can use this
indicator also to save energy: e.g. if you want to heat another pan place it on the still warm
cooking zone.
Controls lock
By locking the controls you can prevent accidental use of the appliance (e.g. unwanted
switching on the cooking zones by the children). When the controls are locked you cannot use
any other control except the ON/OFF switch.
Lock:
Press the lock button. The indicator next to the button lights up.
Unlock:
Make sure that the ceramic hob is on. Hold the lock button for several seconds.
Residual heat warning
In the ceramic surface remains certain accumulated heat after cooking, called residual heat. The ceramic hob
will stay for a time hot even after shutdown. The indicator “H” warns about this condition.
Limited time of heating – automatic shutdown
Another safety function is the automatic shutdown of the ceramic hob. This function is activated if you forget
to turn off the cooking zone. The default time for the shutdown is shown in the following table.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
When frying, be careful, because the oils and fats heat up very quickly, especially when using higher power
level. The oil and fat can spontaneously ignite at very high temperatures and there is a serious risk of fi re.
Tips for proper cooking
•
It is not advisable to preheat the empty dish at a temperature higher than 200°C, it may cause damage to
the structure of the inner surface of the dish.
•
When you bring the food to boiling, lower the power level.
•
The use of a lid prevents heat from escaping, shortens the cooking time and saves energy. You can shorten
the cooking time by limiting the amount of water or fat.
•
Start cooking at a high temperature level and when the food is heated, lower the temperature level.
Stewing, cooking rice
•
The stewing occurs below the boiling point at about 85°C when only occasional bubbles rise slowly
through the liquid. That is the key to prepare delicious soups and stews because the fl avors can develop
without over-boiling. You can also prepare under the boiling point egg meals and sauces thickened with
fl our.
•
Some recipes including rice cooking method of boiling out water, may require more than the minimum
setting so that the food is properly cooked at the recommended time.
Meat roasting, preparation of juicy steaks
1. Leave the meat for about 20 minutes at room temperature.
2. Heat the frying pan with thick bottom.
3. Brush both sides of the steak with oil. Put a bit of oil in the hot pan and then place the meat on the heated
pan.
