1. Introduction
First of all, we would like to thank you for choosing a 4WN
borehole pump set.
All of our products are manufactured with particular care and
attention in order to ensure safe application, reliability and a long
service life.
4WN borehole pump sets are fundamentally ready for installa-
tion/operation in their supplied state. The supplied product
includes the following items:

motor 2-wire (no switch box necessary)
20, 30 or 40 m underwater cable, depending on design
(flat cable suitable for drinking water)
Safety plug
Operating instructions
Upon receipt of the delivery, please check the packaging imme-
diately for any possible shipping damage and report any damage
found to the delivery firm/shipping company. After removing the
pump from its packaging, make sure that it has not suffered any
damage during transportation. If any damage is found, please
report this to the dealer where you purchased the product within
eight days of receipt of delivery.
Check the electric pump’s rating plate to ensure that its
specifications comply with those of your order.
2. Safety instructions
2.1 In general
Incorrect installation or use of the pump can lead to
serious to life-endangering physical injuries or considerable
damage to property. For this reason, the information
contained in this instruction manual must be observed
without fail at all times.
This instruction manual contains fundamental information which
is to be observed for the installation, operation and maintenance
of the product in order to ensure safe handling of the pump and
avoid injury and damage to people and property.
In your own interest, please ensure that you comply with all
instructions contained in this manual at all times.
This manual must be handed over to the installer together with
the pump.
Both installer and respective specialist personnel / operator must
have read and understood this manual completely prior to the
pump being installed and commissioned. Always store the instruc-
tion manual in a safe place where it is easily accessible.
Work such as operation, transport, maintenance, inspection and
installation may only be carried out by personnel with the
appropriate qualifications.
Any warranty/guarantee in respect of this product shall become
void in the event of failure to observe this instruction manual
and/or any interventions work (e.g. modifications, alterations etc.)
on the pump which is not carried out by one of our service stations
and releases us as manufacturer from any liability for personal
injury and/or damage to property, as well as any damage to the
pump itself.
2.2 Marking of safety instructions
Warning
Failure to observe these safety instructions can lead
to serious personal injuries.

observe these safety instructions can result in
persons suffering an electric shock which could lead
to serious injuries or death.

result in malfunctions or damage to property.
2.3 Residual risks
Because of the design of the pump, there is a risk of
coming into contact with the running unit through the
suction opening or the discharge side.
3. Storage and transport
Storage temperature: -10°C to +50°C
The borehole pump set must not be subjected to any direct
sunlight. If taking the pump set out of its packaging, it must be
propped up adequately when storing in a horizontal position in
order to avoid the pump from sagging (see fig. 1).
Other than this, the pump is to be stored standing in an upright
position with the motor facing downwards.
4. Designated purpose
4.1 Intended use
The pump set offers a wide range of application possibilities for
pumping clean water or water with a sand content of less than
50 g/m³. This includes water supplies to private or industrial water
plants, pressure booster systems, fire extinguishing plants and
watering/irrigation systems.
4.2 Non-intended use
The pump set is not suitable for
pumping inflammable or dangerous liquids
pumping dirty/contaminated water containing solids and/or
