Remove the Cover

1.  Remove the six #6-32 screws that hold the monitor cover in place; two on each side of

the chassis and two on the top of the chassis.

2.  Lift the cover straight up and clear of the monitor chassis.

Remove the Video Cable

1.  Remove the six #6-32 screws that hold the base plate into the bottom of the monitor;

two on each side of the chassis and two on the rear of the chassis.

2.  Lay the unit on its side.

3.  Unplug the five position connector containing the multi-colored bundle of wires from

the socket at the very front edge of the circuit board directly under the front of the
CRT.
(a small pair of pliers may be required) The socket on the circuit board will later be
referred to as SOCKET A.

4.  Set the unit upright.

5.  Unplug the six position video connector from socket on the circuit board in the rear of

the unit. (The connector is located adjacent to the bottom of the AC power line filter.)
This will later be referred to as SOCKET B.

6.  Use a pair of pliers to compress the strain relief on the video cable and remove it from

the access hole in the chassis. Retain for future use.

7.  Remove the video cable from the access hole.

Install the New Video Cable

1.  Insert the new video cable through the access hole in the side of the chassis.

2.  Plug the six position video connector into SOCKET B on the circuit board in the rear of

the unit. The connector is keyed and may only be inserted with the key to the top of
the unit.

3.  Pull as much of the video cable outside the unit as possible to make the length of the

cable inside very short. Use a pair of pliers to compress the strain relief around the
video cable and insert it into the access hole in the chassis. Push as little of the cable
into the access hole as possible when inserting the strain relief.

4.  Lay the unit on its side.

5.  Thread the five position connector with the multi-colored bundle of wires to the front of

the unit under the CRT.

6.  Insert the connector into SOCKET A. The connector is keyed and may only be

inserted with the key to the rear of the unit.

7.  Reposition the base plate so the mounting holes line up.

8.  Reinstall the six #6-32 screws that hold the base plate into the bottom of the monitor;

two on each side of the chassis and two on the rear of the chassis.
