6.2 Digital output (DO)
The DO mode enables an open-collector or contact switch output on the safe side to
control an on/off device in the field.

The MTL4-BSIS module base can be fitted with a shorting link (LK1 – see diagram) to
enable the user to increase the output current for solenoid drivers, if required. Consult
the datasheet for the individual parameters.

Fitting link LK1 will change the Safety Description of the product. Refer to
the certificate for details.
Note:
LFD, when configured, is provided by detecting the field conditions using a 24V
1mS pulse every 1 second. Some LED and sounders may respond to this pulse when
enabled.
6.3 Digital output (DO - with switched contacts)
This configuration is an option when relay contacts are required to drive a digital load in
the field. Choose one of the Relay module bases from the table below to suit the field
wiring.
