Cabling
A shielded cable must be used to connect the PanelMate unit to a Modicon 410. The following
diagrams describe the pinouts needed for a cable using RS232 and RS422, respectively. Using RS422,
you can daisy chain devices for a multidrop configuration. The first Modicon 410 and the PanelMate
Plus unit must be wired as shown below. A multi-drop configuration can be wired using RS232 as
long as it is used to connect the PanelMate unit to the first device only. All subsequent devices must
be wired using RS422 in a daisy chain fashion.
