Loosen the thumbscrew [1] on the battery retaining bracket, slide
the bracket to the left [2], rotate the bracket out [3], then slide the
bracket to the right and remove it [4].

Using the plastic tab, carefully pull one battery module out of the
bay and place it on a sturdy, flat surface. Repeat for the second
battery.
