Figure 8: UPS cabinet clearances
•
X = clearance at the back of the UPS cabinet
•
Y = clearance at the top of the UPS cabinet
The basic environmental requirements for the operation of the UPS system are
as follows:
•
Ambient temperature range: from +0 to +40 °C
•
Recommended operating range: from +20 to +25 °C
•
Maximum relative humidity: 95%, non-condensing
It is required that there is proper ventilation in the UPS room. In order to keep the
maximum room temperature rise at the desired level, the air flow must be
sufficient and at the following levels:
•
To limit the temperature rise to a maximum of +5 °C, the required air flow is
600 m
3
/h per 1 kW of losses.
•
To limit the temperature rise to a maximum of +10 °C, the required air flow is
300 m
3
/h per 1 kW of losses.
An ambient temperature from +20 °C to +25 °C is recommended to achieve a
long life of the UPS and batteries. The cooling air that enters the UPS must not
40 °C. Avoid high ambient temperature, moisture, and humidity.
For ventilation requirements, see 93PS heat rejection in

conditioning or ventilation requirements during full load operation
