Instruction manual for dyras TRT-1100 stainless steel toaster

NOTES

Please read the instruction manual thoroughly before using your new appliance. It is important to keep these
instructions as a useful reminder that’ll help you enjoy the many features available. The manufacturer is not
responsible if the appliance becomes damaged or defective as a result of the user not following the information
included in the instruction manual. If the appliance becomes faulty during regular use, it should only be repaired
by an authorised service engineer.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance.
Please read this section very carefully!

Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide safety rules for every specific situation, so we ask you to
apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t described below.

•

This appliance has been designed for household use only, no other (heavy duty) uses are permitted.

Never use the appliance outdoors.

Attention! Never leave the appliance connected to the mains when it is unattended.
Never use the toaster with a time switch or a mains socket controlled by a timer.

Warning! Always disconnect the appliance from the mains when you’ve finished using
it or are taking a break, even if it’s only for a short period of time.

This device is not supposed to be used by physically or mentally handicapped people, or persons without
experience or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of
the device, who is at the same time responsible for their safety. As for children, supervision is recommended
to make sure that they do not play with the device. This device is not supposed to be used by children under
the age of 14, not even with supervision!

Never use an appliance or accessory that the manufacturer did not supply with or propose for use with the
appliance. The use of such appliances might lead to accidents or irregular function.

Never use the toaster with wet hands or near a sink containing water.

In order to avoid electric shock, never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Never touch the
appliance with wet hands. Never allow the wall socket to become wet. You must have dry hands when you
plug the mains connector into the wall socket and when you unplug it. If any moisture gets inside the
appliance, immediately stop using it and take it to a service engineer for checking or repair.

Only use the appliance on a stable, level surface. Keep it away from water and make sure it cannot
accidentally slip or fall. If the appliance comes into contact with any kind of moisture or liquid during use,
immediately unplug it from the mains. Do not touch it or attempt to take it out of the liquid until the mains
plug has been removed from the socket. You must not use the appliance again before having it checked and
repaired by a specialist engineer.

Always unplug the toaster from the mains after using it and before cleaning it. Wait for the appliance to
switch itself off or press the STOP button before unplugging it. Never remove the plug by pulling the cable;
always hold the plug itself.

Never drag or lift the appliance by the power cord.

Please avoid using the appliance in any place where it would be subjected to high temperatures, low
temperatures, physical shocks or vibration. The appliance is designed to be operated and stored in a situation
where temperatures are b5° and +40° Celsius. Do not use the appliance in a wet or humid
environment.

Be careful not to touch any hot parts of the toaster (e.g. the toaster slot or the metal casing) during use.

Never lead the power cables around sharp corners or along or above hot surfaces. Never wind the power
cable around the casing of the appliance, and do not drag or lift the appliance by the power cable because it
might tear away or the insulation might become damaged. Use the cable cleat (holder) to store the excess
cable section. If the power cable of the appliance has become damaged, have it replaced at an authorised
service engineer. Do not connect the appliance to the mains if the power cable is damaged.

Do not put the toaster near any kind of gas/electric oven or heater. Do not use it in a covered or enclosed
space (e.g. under the cupboard of a fitted kitchen). Protect the toaster from external heat and do not
expose it to direct sunlight as this could discolour the casing.

Always use the appliance on a heat-resistant surface, such as a metal tray.

Only move the toaster when it is switched off and has cooled down completely.

Don't use the appliance in the presence of explosive or inflammable gases, vapours or liquids.

Do not insert oversized bakery products, kitchen tools, aluminium foil or any other packaging into the toaster;
this could cause a fire or electric shock.

Do not use the toaster without any bread in it (except when preparing the toaster to be used for the first
time).

The toaster must not be covered by or operated near flammable material (e.g. curtains, wallpaper etc).

Do not push anything into the appliance or let anything fall into the appliance. This could cause a fire or
electric shock.

Do not try to remove anything from the toaster - neither with your fingers nor with any tools - if it is plugged in.

To avoid overloading your electricity supply, please don’t use any other high-power appliance in the same
socket or on the same mains circuit at the same time as using the toaster.
