Supply pOWER TO ThE ChaRgER

This charger can be powered by connecting it to a 12V DC power source, such as a 12V sealed battery
(HAN102) or an automobile battery.

 CAUTION:

If you choose to power your charger with an automobile battery, never do so with the

automobile running as fluctuation in power can cause product malfunction and
possibly injury.

 CAUTION:

Never connect the AC and DC input cords to an active power source at the same time. This

will void the warranty, cause product damage and possibly injure the user.

AC POWER

To power the Prophet Plus Charger, connect the AC power cord into a standard 110V wall outlet.

     NOTICE:

Always consult 12V battery collateral materials or Horizon Hobby before using with sources

other than standard AC wall outlet.

DC POWER

If you power the charger by using DC power, connect the red (positive) end of the alligator clips to the red
terminal of the DC power source and the black (negative) end of the alligator clips to the black terminal of

the DC power source.

 WARNING:

Always make sure that you follow proper polarities at all times or electrical shock will occur.

Charging 6/7-Cell Ni-Cd or Ni-MH Car Packs

     1.  When power is supplied to the charger, the charger will beep, and the LED will flash once.

     2.  Connect the battery pack to the charger, and the charger will beep again. The LED will repeatedly blink

until you begin the charging process.

     3.  Select the charge rate based on the batteries capacity rating. See “Charge Times” chart below.

     4.  Push the Start button to begin charging. The LED will be solid red during the charging process.

     5.  Once the battery has peaked, the LED will flash, and the beeper will sound for 30 seconds. If the

battery is left connected after 30 seconds, the LED will continue to flash, and the beeper will sound
approximately every 90 seconds.

When the battery has peaked, the Prophet Plus will automatically transition to Advanced Trickle Charge.

Charging 4/5-Cell Ni-Cd or Ni-MH Receiver Packs

     1.  When power is supplied to the charger, the charger will beep, and the LED will flash once.

     2.  Connect the battery pack to the charger using the included receiver charge adapter, and the charger

will beep again. The LED will continually blink until you begin the charging process.

     3.  Select a charge rate of either 1 or 2 amps, depending on the receiver pack you are going to charge.

We recommend that you charge 600mAh or lower capacity receiver packs at 1 amp, while you may

charge higher capacity packs at 2 amps.

     4.  Push the Start button to begin charging. The LED will be solid red during the charging process.

     5.  Once the battery has peaked, the LED will flash, and the beeper will sound for 30 seconds. If the

battery is left connected after 30 seconds, the LED will continue to flash and the beeper will sound
approximately every 90 seconds.

When the battery has peaked, the Prophet Plus will automatically transition to Advanced Trickle Charge.

WARNING:

If at any time during the charge process the battery pack(s) become hot (over 140 ºF),

unplug the battery immediately and discontinue the charge process.

aDVaNCED TRICklE ChaRgE

Once the batteries are fully charged, the charger will immediately enter a pulse trickle charge. This pulse
trickle charge will condition the batteries, extend their life and make certain that they are fully charged
when you are ready to use them. You will know that the charger has entered Advanced Trickle Charge when
the charger beeps and the LED continuously flashes.

RE-pEakINg

Once the battery pack has peaked and is on Advanced Trickle Charge, you can re-peak the battery by simply
pushing the Start button without disconnecting the battery from the charger. Do not re-peak the battery
more than once during a charging process.

CAUTION:

Never re-peak a warm battery as the overcharging can damage the products and possibly

the user.

NOTICE:

Check with the battery manufacturer to ensure peaking is possible. Failure to follow correct

peaking procedure could cause damage to both the charger and battery packs.
