Introduction
This kit allows the users of older ARAV (AVA-2) units with the 102 inch whip antenna to upgrade
to the newer three-piece aluminum antenna. The older version active antennas used a one-piece 102
inch whip antenna that is not easy transport for remote operating or cost effective to ship because of
the length. This new design ARAV antenna can be shipped at lower expense and also small enough
to easily pack for DXpeditions or portable operations.
There are two kits available. One is for a complete retrofit to an older model ARAV Active Receive
Antenna, the second kit available is for a replacement antenna for the newer model ARAV Active
Receive Antenna.

circuits, or where it can come into contact with such circuits. When installing the antenna, take
extreme care not to come into contact with such circuits, because they may cause serious injury or
death.
