8. Disassemble the vacuum relief valve (D). Clean and
lubricate shaft and bearings. Check the rubber gasket
(E). Change if cracked or harden (Part No. 4710).
Check the function of the hydraulic damper (F).

Adjusting the vacuum relief valve
Th
e valve is pre-adjusted with a negative pressure
(18 kPa). If this is to be adjusted the following proce-
dure is used:
-
Connect a manometer to the suction side and
measure with fully closed inlet.

Shut down the pump and demount the vacuum
relief valve.

Remove the damper cover (1) and measure dis-
tance A.

Loosen the locking nut (3) and adjust the spring
tension by turning the spring plate (4). Th
e com-
pression of the spring (2) determines the opening
pressure. Changing the distance A by 1.5 mm
will give a corresponding change in pressure of 1
kPa.

Remount the valve after adjustment and test the
pressure.
9. Inspect all cables and connections, repair if nec-
cessary.
10. Remount the protective panels, power up the
pump and give it a test run.
