A. Testing the Head Switch
3. Press the
and “BEATER ON”.
Look inside the cylinder at the rear
drive coupling for rotation. Press the
freeze button and look inside the
cylinder at the rear drive coupling for
rotation. Turn the “ BEATER OFF”.
Proper Operation
When “BEATER ON” is activated or the
freeze button is pushed, the display
should read “HEAD SWITCH” and not
allow coupling/beater shaft rotation. The
head switch is operating properly. When
the head is replaced the system should
reset and allow beater rotation. Make
sure the control pad is “OFF” and that
the power switch is “OFF”. The freezer is
ready to be assembled and put in service.
Mechanical Hazard
When “BEATER ON” is activated or the
freeze button is pushed and the rear
drive coupling is rotating and the display
does not read “HEAD SWITCH”. Freezer
has a head switch or software problem.
Turn the power switch “OFF”.
DO NOT
place the freezer in service until the
problem has been corrected.
The head switch feature is designed
to prevent the beater shaft from being
accidentally activated. The beater
motors should not operate with the
head assembly removed. It is essential
that the proper operation of this switch
be verified routinely. Use the following
instructions to test for proper operation:
CAUTION
To avoid electrical shock or
contact with moving parts,
make sure the control pad
is “OFF” and that the power
switch is “OFF”.
1. Remove the dispense head and
beater shaft assemblies.
2. Place the power switch “ON”.
CAUTION
Moving parts. Do not place
hands in the freezing cylinder.
Severe personal injury could
result.

OTE:
Do this test for each freezing
cylinder.
Check the outlet water temperature
of water-cooled condensers at the
floor drain. Ideal water temperatures
should be about 95°F (35°C) with a 70°F
(21.1°C) water inlet temperature.
