The precondition for the installation of the

fl

 oodlight is an

existing, properly connected distribution box.

1.  Open the distribution box.
2.  Insert the cable (

2

) of the

fl

oodlight into the distribution box. It

may be necessary to remove the terminal strips from the cable

fi

 rst.

3.  With the aid of the terminal strips you clamp the leads (brown,

blue, green/yellow) to the corresponding connections in the dis-
tribution box.

Settings

You can adapt the functions of the motion detector to your require-
ments. For this purpose you will

fi

nd three setting knobs on the

base of the motion detector (

4

):

•

SENS

(sensitivity and movements): Turn the knob towards

+

to increase sensitivity. The motion detector then reacts to the
slightest movements. In order to reduce sensitivity, turn the
knob towards

-.

Under certain circumstances it may be necessary to adjust
sensitivity in relation to seasonal temperature

fl

 uctuations.

•

TIME

(lighting duration): This button enables you to set the

length of time the

fl

oodlight should stay on after motion has

been detected. Turn it towards

+

 to increase lighting duration

and towards

-

in order to reduce it. The lighting time can be

adjusted from 10 seconds to 10 minutes.

•

LUX

(twilight switch): This button sets the ambient lighting con-

ditions from which the motion detector is activated. Turn the
knob towards   for a higher lighting value (e.g. if the motion
detector is to react during daylight, too). The further you turn it
towards  , the darker the surroundings have to be to activate
the motion detector and the

fl

 oodlight.

Positioning

Position the

fl

 oodlight and the motion detector.

1. The

fl

oodlight can be adjusted steplessly up and down. You can

tilt it until it reaches the desired angle.

2.  When it is horizontal the max. forward range of the motion de-

tector is 10 m. Tilting the motion detector downwards reduces
the range (e.g. in order to avoid undesired detection of move-
ments in the street).
In order to adjust the motion detector vertically you release the
setting screw (

3

), move the motion detector to the required po-

sition, and then tighten the screw again.

3.  To the sides the motion detector has a detection range of 180°.

You can turn it steplessly to the right or left, in order to adjust
the detection area to your requirements.

Trouble-shooting

If the article is not functioning correctly, please check

fi

 rst whether

you can correct the problem yourself.

Do not attempt to repair a defective electrical device
yourself!

If the

fl

 oodlight doesn’t switch on, ...

•  it may be the case that the fuse is defective or you have a

power supply problem.

•  the motion detector may be aligned in such a way that the re-

quired detection area is outside the range of the motion detec-
tor.

If the

fl

oodlight switches on with a time delay (the range is too

close), this can have the following causes:
•  the motion detector reacts with a time delay to movement from

the front. It reacts faster to persons approaching from the sides.

•  the temperature difference between the person and the sur-

roundings is too low.

If the

fl

oodlight switches on without any apparent reason, this can

have the following causes:
•  exhaust fans, e.g. from cooker hoods or clothes dryers (move-

ment of warm air)

•  passing vehicles (warm engines)
•  nearby trees or bushes
•  sudden changes in surrounding temperatures or gusts of wind
If the

fl

oodlight also switches on during the day even though the

twilight switch is set to  , the reason for this may be that it is in the
shade (e.g. under a roof or a tree).
