Safety notes
Proper use

This product is exclusively designed for decorative purposes and
is therefore NOT a toy! Children must be under supervision to
ensure that they do not play with the product.

The product is designed for private use and is not intended for
commercial use. Only use the product for the intended purpose
and only as described in the instructions. Any other use is deemed
improper.

The product is not suitable for outdoor use.
Risks of injury

Risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children
and animals.
❐
Batteries and storage batteries may be life threatening if swallowed.
Therefore keep the storage battery and product out of the reach
of children and animals. If a storage battery has been swallowed,
seek immediate medical attention.
❐
If a storage battery has leaked, ensure that the battery acid does not
come into contact with your skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.
In the event of contact with the battery acid, rinse the affected
areas instantly with plenty of clean water and immediately consult
a physician.
Proper handling of storage batteries and batteries
❐
Before inserting a new storage battery, check whether the contacts
in the battery compartment and those on the storage battery are
clean and if necessary, clean them.

Only use the rechargeable battery type speci
fi
ed in the technical
data (see chapter “Technical data”).
❐
When changing the rechargeable battery make sure the polarity is
correct (+ / –).
❐
Immediately remove a leaky storage battery from the battery
compartment. Clean the contacts before you insert a new storage
battery.
❐
The storage battery may not be charged or reactivated with other
means, disassembled, disposed of in
fi
re, immersed in a liquid or
short-circuited.
Handling the product properly

Always place the product on a dry,
fl
at, and solid surface.
❐
Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures, severe
changes in temperature or moisture.
❐
Do not allow the product to fall and do not subject it to severe
percussions.
❐
In the event of extreme weather conditions (e. g. storm, hail) or
if you do not intend to use the product for a prolonged period of
time, turn it off and store it in a dry, clean place.

Maintain adequate distance to candles,
fi
replaces, stovetops or
other
fi
re and heat sources.
❐
Make sure that there is no risk of the product falling in water or
other liquids. It is only splash-proof.
❐
If the product is defective, do not attempt to repair it yourself. In
the event of damage, contact the customer service department.
❐
Do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads to
clean the product. Only clean the product when needed with a
dust cloth or, if is very dirty, with a damp cloth and a small amount
of mild detergent.
Warranty conditions
Defects arising due to improper handling, damage or attempts at repair
are excluded from the warranty. This also applies to normal wear and
tear.

Site of installation
Set the solar light up in a place where it is exposed to direct sunlight
the entire day if possible (at least 6 hours – ideally, in open areas and
not underneath trees etc.). However, do not place the solar light close
to arti
fi
cial light sources (e. g. street lamps) as the arti
fi
cial light could
impair the functioning of the sensors and the brightness.
Start-up
• Before using the solar light for the
fi
rst time or if it has
not been used for a prolonged period of time, it must be
charged for at least 6 hours.
• Ensure that the light's solar cell
fi
eld is always clean in
order to ensure the greatest possible collection of light.
1. Unpack all parts. Check that
the product contents are
complete and that they do
not exhibit any transport
damages. Should you identify
any damages, please promptly
consult customer service.
2. Firmly hold the solar light by
the bulb
fi
tting and unscrew
the lampshade.
3. Set the On / Off switch to the
ON position.
4. Screw the lampshade back
into the bulb
fi
tting.
Place the solar light on an even, stable and dry base.
During the day, the storage battery is charged by the solar cells. The
storage battery needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight in order to
fully charge.
As long as the On / Off switch is set to the ON position, the solar light
will automatically turn on at nightfall and off at daybreak.
If you are not using the solar light or if you would like to turn off the
solar light manually, set the On / Off switch to the OFF position.
Changing / removing the storage battery
If the solar light's brightness diminishes, the storage battery
should be replaced.
You will need a Ni-MH 1.2 V, type AA storage battery.
1. Screw the lamp shade off of the bulb
fi
tting.
2. Set the On / Off switch to the OFF position.
3. Loosen the crosshead screws next to the solar cell
fi
eld with a
suitable screw driver.
4. Remove the solar unit. The storage battery is located on the back.
5. Remove the old storage battery from the battery compartment
and insert a new storage battery. In the process, make sure that
the polarity is correct (+ / –). Dispose of the old storage battery in
an environmentally-friendly manner.
6. Place the solar unit back in the compartment, screw the screws
back into place, set the On / Off switch to the ON position and
screw the lamp shade into the bulb
fi
tting.
Disposal
The packaging material is recyclable. Dispose of the packaging
in an environmentally-friendly manner and make it available
to the collection service for recyclable materials.
Dispose of the product in an environmentally-friendly
manner. The product does not belong in the household
garbage. Dispose of it at a recycling centre for old electric
and electrical equipment. For more information, please
contact the administration in your community.
The storage battery must be removed and disposed of
separately before disposing of the product. To protect
the environment, batteries and rechargeable batteries may
not be disposed of together with normal household waste.
Instead they must be turned in at appropriate collection
points. Please also observe applicable statutory provisions
regulating the disposal of batteries.
