The NetGuardian may activate the BSU II speaker as certain conditions occur. Press the large red ACO button to
locally terminate the sound. You can also use the thumb wheel to adjust the speaker volume.

COMM LED Operation
11.1
The Comm LED provides quick status of bi-directional communication. On the unit, a red blink indicates data
receive, while a green blink indicates data transmitted. During normal operation, the LED will flash red/green. If
you observe a slow green blink on the BSU II, this indicates a communication failure.
Use the following steps for troubleshooting:
1. Verify addresses is correct.
2. Verify baud rate is correct and is set to 1200.
3. Verify wiring connections.
4. Cycle power on BSU II and check Comm LED.
5. Review NetGuardian System Alarm 59-61 for communication status — refer to Figure 11.1.
Similarly, data port 8 LED on the front of the NetGuardian may be used for diagnosis. You will observe a
