OCU
The OCU menu is used to monitor functioning and diagnose
problems with the Optional Control Unit (OCU). The OCU provides
the capability to interface the coder with up to two verification
readers and one Product ID reader.
Refer to OCU Installation Instructions P/N 084079 for detailed
information on programming and operating bar code scanners.
Jumpers inside the OCU control box are factory set to operate the
SICK 430 scanner and need to be reconfigured if operating the
earlier SICK 220 scanner.
2.9.1
Reject Relay
Parameter Options: On, Off
Access Level: Read–3; Write–3
The Reject Relay parameter indicates whether the reject relay
located inside the OCU assembly is currently energized. This relay
is energized by the scanner when a bad read has occurred.
The On Time of the OCU reject relay is adjustable and must be set
by the user through Machine Setup / Print Station Settings / OCU
Settings / Reject Relay On Time.
The Reject Relay is available to control external devices. The user
must hardwire to the reject relay terminal block inside the OCU
control enclosure. A strain relief cable bushing has been supplied on
the OCU enclosure for this purpose.
The reject relay output can also be set to On by the user to test the
functional output of the relay. It must be set to Off after testing is
complete, to be operated by the scanners as described above.
NOTE: The reject relay is for scanner verification readers only and
will not toggle if the Product ID bar code scanner has a bad read or
no read.
