• Do not place hot food inside the freezer. Let it cool down to room temperature
before storing.
• Follow the freezing information marked on the product packaging. All products
have a maximum deep-freezing time after which the product starts to lose its
flavour and nutritional value.
• Do not pack products too tightly inside the freezer. Ensure that there is sufficient
airflow between the products.
• Do not place products packed in a tight metal or glass container inside the
freezer unless they are specifically designed to be frozen. Especially fluids will
expand when freezing, whereby the packaging will crack or shatter.
• When freezing large amounts of food, e.g. berries, it is advisable to place the
food in small batches inside the freezer so that they will freeze evenly.
• Clean the freezer regularly and defrost it when needed. Do not let frost and ice
accumulate inside the freezer, as a thick layer of frost and ice will affect the in-
ternal airflow and the efficiency of the freezer, and also degrade the economic
efficiency of the appliance.
• Be careful when eating frozen food to avoid frost burns. Particularly liquor with
a high alcohol content can cause serious frost burns when consumed directly
from the freezer.
• Do not open the freezer doors in vain, or keep them open for prolonged peri-
ods of time.
The freezer drawers
The freezer comprises of two separate compartments, and contains five transpar-
ent plastic drawers. The transparency of the drawers improves the energy efficien-
cy of the appliance by letting you view the contents of the drawers without open-
ing them.
There are also two flat drawers in the freezer, mainly for storing flat products, such
as pizzas. You can also place the included ice tray in one of the flat drawers.
The ice tray
With the ice tray you can easily make ice cubes. Fill the tray to about 4/5 capacity
with fresh, cold water and place it firmly in the horizontal position in the freezer. Al-
low the ice cubes at least 8 hours to form. You can loosen the ice cubes by gently
twisting the ice tray back and forth. Be careful not to bend the ice tray too much
to avoid breaking it.
5. Installing and implementation
Before installing the refrigerator, please follow the steps below:
• If the appliance has been delivered in a horizontal position, lift it up in a stand-
ing position before unpacking it. Verify that the packaging is intact. If the pack-
aging has been damaged, please inspect the appliance with particular care
before using it.
• Remove all packaging materials and all stoppers, protective films and other
materials that are not essential for using the appliance.
• Inspect the appliance for damage attained during transport and for manufac-
turing flaws. If the appliance is damaged or faulty in any way, please contact
your retailer for further assistance.
• Let the appliance stand in an upright position for at least six hours prior to start-
ing it.
• Clean all internal surfaces, shelves, drawers and baskets of the appliance be-
fore using it with water and a neutral detergent. Dry the appliance carefully.
• IMPORTANT:
Read the safety instructions regarding installation and use in the
beginning of this manual.
• It is advisable to install a drip pan underneath the appliance to collect possible
overflow and condensation water. The use of a drip pan is often a requirement
for getting compensations from your home insurance in the event of an acci-
dent. The drip pan is not included with the appliance.
Placing
Choose a location for the appliance that is not
near any heat sources, such as a stove or radia-
tor, and do not place the unit in direct sunlight.
You must ensure proper air circulation around the
appliance, which in practice means leaving at
least 100 mm space behind the unit, and at least
100 mm, preferrably over 300 mm space above
the unit. Ensure that the door can be opened
without obstruction in a 160
o
angle.
Note:
The hinges of the doors cannot be relo-
cated, so take this into account when choosing
a location for the unit. The hinges are fixed on the
right hand side of the unit as seen when looking at
the front of the unit.
Power supply
It is advisable to ensure the supply of power to
the unit with a dedicated, earthed mains socket,
which is not shared with other appliances. Easy
access to the mains socket must be guaranteed
so that the unit can be disconnected from the
power grid in case of an emergency and for
cleaning and service.
Do not use an extension cord. Ensure that the supply cord is not squeezed or
folded. See to it that the cord does not touch the compressor or refrigerant circuit.
