The Hands Free Module does not receive the VIN message from the PCM.

With the DRBIII

, select System Monitors then J1850 Module Scan.
Is the PCM one of the modules present on the bus?

Yes
→
Go To

No
→
Refer to the Communication category for the related symptom(s).
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

, erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from off to on and wait approximately 1 minute.
With the DRBIII

, read DTC’s.
Did this DTC reset?
All
Yes
→
Replace the Hands Free Module in accordance with the service
information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→
Test Complete.
