2.2 Setting Input Power Jumper and Turning Power ON
There is a
“IN POWER/BATT”
jumper on the circuit board that
MUST
be set correctly or the operator could get damaged.
Considerations should be made when connecting loop detectors (specifically, the automatic exit loop), radio receiver and any
safety devices to a solar powered gate operator. These devices will constantly drain the operator’s power. Since the operator has
a limited power source (batteries), considerations should be made before installing these devices.
The pins
MUST
be
jumpered together
when using Solar
power.

Important Battery Plug Note:
Battery Plug P2 comes from
the factory unplugged and
needs to be plugged into
circuit board when operator
is ready to be powered up.
Loop Detectors:
DoorKing’s
plug-in loop detectors are
specifically designed to be
connected to a solar
powered gate operator. If
using a third party external
loop detector, it MUST be a
low current draw type.
Radio Receiver:
DoorKing’s 3-wire radio receiver is
specifically designed to be connected to a solar powered
gate operator. If using a third party radio receiver, it MUST
be a low current draw radio receiver type.
Safety Device Connections:
All safety devices (photo sensors and
reversing edges) MUST have a separate power source when using
solar power.
Secondary Gate Operator Connection:
NOT
available when using solar power.
24 V Maglock Connection:
NOT
available when using solar power.
This may be red when
first powering up
operator depending on
how much of a charge
the batteries have.
