In the "Purge Conditions" window you can determine
whether, when and under what conditions a file is to be
deleted from the hard drive and replaced by a 4 KB
reference, a so-called "Link", "Stub" or "Reparse Point".
This reference allows you to access the file as normal, but
the file no longer occupies as much space on your hard
drive and instead is available directly on the archive
medium in the
Blu-safe
®
. If you do not select any condi-
tions, the files are not moved out of the TAFS directory.
Each archive run then only copies the files to the BD
media in
Blu-safe
®
(a "backup" is generated).
Within the "Advanced Archive Settings" you can deter-
mine the size of the containers (the so-called "Image
Volumes") for the temporary interim buffer of the data to
be archived. The default size is 600 MB.
Note:
The size of the temporary image vol-
ume limits the maximum size of the
files to be included. If you have to ar-
chive files larger than 600 MB, please
enter at least the maximum size of
your files.
