WARNING:

Before reclining, the caregiver should ensure the chair is in a slight tilt position.

Reclining without a slight tilt could result in the user sliding forward.

•

WARNING:

The caregiver should use and familiarize himself or herself with the handle

mechanism prior to operating the chair.

•

WARNING:

The caregiver should assess the user’s abilities, weight and physical condition to

determine the sufficient degree of recline.

•

WARNING:

The gas cylinders must be operational before using the chair. Do not operate the

recline mechanism if the gas cylinders are not operational.

•

WARNING:

Ensure the user’s arms and hands are inside the chair frame and clear of all pinch

points before adjusting the tilt angle.

Recline Operation

The backrest angle can be reclined from 95 to 125 degrees. In order to recline the chair:

•   Before reclining, the caregiver should ensure the chair is in a slight tilt position to prevent the user

from sliding out while reclining.

•   Locate the recline mechanism handle. The handle is located at the rear of the chair, on the left

push bar, marked with a “RECLINE” label

(Figure 4).

•  Squeeze the handle and move the backrest to the desired angle of recline.
•  Once the desired angle has been achieved, release the handle to lock the position in place.

Headrest Adjustment

The height of the headrest is adjustable. To adjust the headrest:

•  Unbuckle the fastening strap, and raise or lower the headrest.
•   When the desired position is achieved, reattach the fastening strap with the buckle at the rear of

the chair.
