DHOLLANDIA
•
Weld the support channels to the rear sill and underside of the I-beam cross members. Weld to as many I-beam or cross members
as possible, to distribute the forces of dock impact as much as possible.
•
Clean up the welding seams and apply adequate anti-corrosive coating to protect the body against corrosion. Check, and make sure
you comply with the instructions of the OEM vehicle manufacturer.
•
Bolt the diagonal braces between the side steps and support channels on the body. Fasten all bolts and locking nuts to the prescribed
torque values.
•
In order to avoid impact damage, it is recommended to have a minimum of 10° for vehicles with more than 10 ft (3 m) overhang to
the center of the rear axle. For cases with insufficient ground clearance, side steps with a flexible bottom step are available (option
ref. OAM057.LR).
•
Refer to section 19.4 on page 54 regarding the safe operator position on the platform and climbing up the side steps safety with the
placement of hand grips on the vehicle body.
NOTICE
CAUTION
•
If you intend to weld, ALWAYS follow the NOTICE and CAUTION with regards to welding in section 4 on page 6.
CAUTION
•
Increasing the ground clearance under the side steps can have a negative impact on the ease of access for the driver.
•
Too high of a ground clearance under the side steps may lead to personal injury for the operator.
•
Consult with the H&S manager of the end user to execute a risk analysis and determine the optimum solution.
