RAID
RAID 5
RAID 5 stripes data and parity information across hard drives. It is
fault tolerant and provides better hard drive performance and more
storage capacity.
JBOD (Spanning)
JBOD redundantly stores the same data on multiple disks that
appear as a single disk on the operating system.
Settings
To enable the RAID function, the following settings are required.
1. Connect Serial/Parallel ATA drives.
2. Configure Serial/Parallel ATA in the Award BIOS.
3. Configure RAID in the NVRAID BIOS and/or Sil3114 SataRAID
BIOS.
3. Install RAID driver.
Step 1: Connect Serial/Parallel ATA Drives
SATA 1-4 supported by
nForce4 SLI chip
SATA 5-8 supported by
Sil 3114 chip
