Using a tape measure (fig. A & F)
The DE730 allows you to use a standard tape measure (with belt clip) to
measure the cutting width. The instructions below assume that the length
stop is located to the left of the saw. If it is located to the right of the saw,
follow the same instructions, replacing

.
• Slide the length stop to a distance of approx. 1 m from the saw blade
and lock it in place.
• Set the saw blade to a 90° angle to the rail.
• Lock the saw mounting board in place by tightening the locking
knobs (3) (fig. A).
• Measure the distance between the right edge of the length stop and
the left edge of the saw blade. Note the distance measured.
• Mount the tape measure (24) on the length stop (25) as shown (fig. F).
• Pull the tape out and flip the stop down.
• Guide the tape under the horn of the material support (26) and through
the tape clamp (27).
• Loop the tape back so that it rests on the rail as shown.
• Pull the tape out until the measurement shown at the right end of the
length stop matches the distance noted.
• Tighten the clamping screw (28).
• To verify the adjustment, slide the length stop to a specific measure
and make a trial cut. The length of the cut-off piece should match the
reading on the tape measure. If not, re-adjust as described above.
