power signals will transfer through the fuse first. If the fuse should blow for any reason, disconnect the device
from any power source immediately and inspect the unit before replacing the fuse. If the fuse needs
replacement, use a fuse of the same type and rating and never bridge any gaps with any other conducting
materials. Doing otherwise may cause very dangerous situations and possible (lethal) injury. Devine can not
be held responsible for any injuries or damage caused by replacing fuses with wrong types/ratings or other
conducting materials.
Furthermore, there is a 115V / 230V AC switch provided. The default setting on this switch is 230V AC. Do
not alter this unless you are going to connect the amplifier to a 115V AC outlet! Do not remove the cover in
front of the switch unless you have to replace it.
Ventilation and cooling
D-series amplifiers from Devine can perform all day or night without requiring any cooling-down time. After
the device has been used, it should be turned off. Due to large conventional heat sinks and a cooling fan,
these amplifiers will not overheat under normal environment conditions. There are ventilation holes
perforated in the housing of the amplifier to allow fresh, cool air to enter the amplifier and hot air to escape.
for a perfect performance, do not block any of the ventilation gaps in any way. All ventilation slots are
equipped with a layer of foam behind the slots to prevent dust, dirt and small particles such as confetti from
getting inside the unit. These also protect the amplifier and keep its internal components clean. It is
recommended to use a vacuum cleaner to clean the ventilation slots regularly for a perfect airflow.
When mounted in a 19-inch rack or flight case, ensure that there is sufficient ventilation for the power
amplifiers. Keep in mind that heat rises, and that most flight cases and racks have closed rears. Therefore, it
is always recommended to install a ventilation panel above your amplifiers so excessive heat can escape.
The installed cooling fan is temperature-controlled and will only provide optimum results when the amplifier is
functioning at full power.
It is possible to stack amplifiers directly on top of one another when mounted in a rack or as desktop stack.
No more than three Devine amplifiers should be stacked on top of one another unless there is some extra
space between every three amplifiers. This will ensure proper heat dissipation and perfect performance
during use.
Built-in protection
The D-series amplifiers are equipped with different types of protection measures to ensure they continue to
perform in optimal condition and are protected against any influences which may cause serious damage to
the internal electronics.
The following measures have been taken:
- Temperature monitoring and protection (to prevent overheating)
- Protection of electronics (to prevent possible output short circuits)
- Prevention of DC current on the outputs (DC current on your speakers may cause permanent damage)
- AC protection (fuse)
- Limiter (to prevent overloading)
- VHF distortion prevention (to prevent wireless microphone systems from interrupting the signals inside the
amplifier)
- Soft Start (to prevent a current surge when turning on an amplifier rack or stack on and causing a power
peak, which could activate your circuit breaker)
