Follow all local codes. In the absence of local
codes, use the latest edition of The National
Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1/
NFPA 54*.

UNPACKING

 CAUTION: Do not remove the

warning and instruction labels
attached to the heater base as-
sembly. These markings contain
important warranty information.

1.

With utility knife, cut the carton all the
way around above the staples on the
bottom tray. Lift the carton off the
heater. Remove packing. 

Note:

  The

hood is located in the packing on the
right hand side of the heater front. Lift
the heater off the bottom tray.

2.

Locate two screws above top corners
of the fireplace insert screen. Remove
and discard these screws. Lift fireplace
insert screen up and pull out to remove.

3.

Remove protective packaging applied
to logs, log base assembly, and fire-
place insert.

4.

Remove fireplace insert hood from car-
ton insert.

5.

Check all items for any shipping dam-
age. If damaged, promptly inform dealer
where you bought fireplace insert.

REMOTE CONTROL
ACCESSORIES

There are four optional remote controls that
can be purchased separately for this fire-
place insert:

• wall switch

• wall thermostat

• hand-held ON/OFF remote

• hand-held thermostat remote

12. Do not use fireplace insert if any part has

been exposed to or under water. Immedi-
ately call a qualified service technician to
inspect the fireplace insert and to replace
any part of the control system and any
gas control which has been under water.

13. Do not operate fireplace insert if any log

is broken. Do not operate fireplace insert
if a log is chipped (dime-sized or larger).

14. Turn fireplace insert off and let cool

before servicing. Only a qualified ser-
vice person should service and repair
fireplace insert.

15. Operating fireplace insert above eleva-

tions of 4,500 feet could cause pilot
outage.
