Drying time: 15 minutes at room tempera-

Opaque
The opaque is in liquid form and therefore
ready for immediate use. Shake the bottle
well before using and replace the stopper
immediately after use.
Clean, degrease and dry the metal surface and
apply the opaque from the phial with a fine
sable brush. The metal must be rough, not
smoothed by sand-blasting or electrolytically.
Brush the opaque on thinly and evenly.
Apply dentine opaque first, let it dry and
then paint on the neck opaque.
With plastic jacket crowns, first insulate the
die and then apply opaque to the well-dried
insulating film.
Flask Method
Apply opaque after the crown or bridge has
been bedded in and the wax boiled out.
Drying Time
Opaque hardens at room temperature in
15 minutes. Alternatively, the bridge frame
with its covering of opaque may be heated
at 60–90 °C (e.g. before an infrared lamp)
for at least 5 minutes.
