• Make sure that the three holes in the steam nozzle, illustrated

in fig. 27, are not blocked. If necessary, clean the holes with a
pin or needle.

• Clean the steam exit tube carefully to avoid being burnt.
• Screw the steam nozzle back into place.

CLEANING AND  MAINTENANCE

• Before performing any cleaning operations, the machine must

have cooled down and must be disconnected from the mains
power supply.

• Never immerse the machine in the water: it is an electrical

appliance.

• Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents to clean the coffee

maker. A soft damp cloth will suffice.

• Regularly clean the filter holder, the removable drip tray, the

boiler outlet, and the carafes. Do not wash the filter holder in
the dish washer.

• From time to time check that the holes in the filter for espres-

so coffee are not obstructed. If necessary, carefully clean the fil-
ter with hot water, scrubbing with an abrasive pad. (see fig. 28).
Make sure the holes in the metal filter are not blocked. If neces-
sary, clean with a pin (fig. 29).

• To clean the Flavor Savor, remove it from the filter holder mov-

ing it up (fig. 30).Than, after cleaning, reinsert it  by pulling from
the top (fig. 30).

DESCALING

Due to the continuous heating of the water used to make the cof-
fee, over time it is normal for the tubing inside the machine to fill
with lime scale.
The

espresso coffee machine

must be decalcified every 2-6

months (depending on the hardness of the water and the frequen-
cy of use). Proceed as follows:
1. Fill with water the small carafe up to level 4 of the “water

Level” side.

2. Dissolve 1 spoon of citric acid (15-20 grams, available from

chemists or drug stores) .

3. Pour the descaling solution in the boiler and close the cap.
4. Attach the filter holder and ensure that the steam knob is

closed.

5. Place the small carafe under the filter holder for espresso cof-

fee.

6. Turn the Vario System in the “LIGHT” position and turn the

appliance on.

7. After few minutes, the descaling solution will flow in the carafe.
