5. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING THE FILTER
Before cleaning or maintenance, always turn the appliance
off by setting the switch under the control panel at the
bottom right to “0“.
Disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply.
Clean the appliance with a damp cloth only, then dry with
a dry cloth.
The fan is
fi
tted with a dust
fi
lter which retains the impurities
in the air taken in from the room.
To clean, remove the
fi
lter at the side. If the
fi
lter resists
extraction, pull harder and remove it completely.
Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust deposited on the
fi
lter. If it is very dirty, immerse in warm water and rinse a
number of times. The temperature of the water must never
exceed 40 °C.
After washing, leave the
fi
lter to dry thoroughly. Then put
it back in the fan.
You are recommended to clean the filter at
least once a month.
WARNING:
do not obstruct the air outlet and
intake grills on the fan. This could cause the
appliance to overheat.
If the
fi
lter is very dirty or the air intake or outlet grilles are
almost completely obstructed, a safety sensor may shut the
fan down completely and the “FILTER” light comes on.
To restore operation, clean the
fi
lter thoroughly or remove
possible obstructions from the air intake or outlet grilles.
Turn the appliance off by placing the switch under the
control panel at the bottom right in the “0” position. Wait
for at least
fi
ve minutes for the safety sensor to cool down,
then turn the appliance back on as described in “Regulation
and operation”.
