View Type
— Specify if the defined OID branch will be included or
excluded in the selected SNMP view.
Access Control
For ease of use, users may be assigned to groups. In this way, it is possible to
assign feature access rights to an entire group, instead of assigning them
individually to users. Users are created in the
User Security Model
pages.
Groups can be defined in any version of SNMP, but only SNMPv3 groups can
be assigned authentication methods.
To add an SNMP group, and assign it access control privileges:

.
Previously-defined groups are displayed.

To add a new group, click
Edit, Add
, and enter the fields:

Group Name
— Enter a group name.
–
Security Model
— Select the SNMP version of the group.
–
Security Level
— Select the security level attached to the group.
Security levels apply to SNMPv3 only. The possible options are:
•
No Authentication
— Neither authentication nor the privacy
security levels are assigned to the group.
•
No Priv
— Does not encrypt SNMP message.
•
AuthPriv
— Authenticates SNMP messages, and ensures that the
origin of the SNMP message is authenticated.

Operation
— Select the group access rights. The possible options are:
•
Read Operation
— The management access is restricted to read-
only, and changes cannot be made to the assigned SNMP view. If
desired, select a view from the drop-down list.
•
Write
Operation
— The management access is read-write and
changes can be made to the assigned SNMP view. If desired, select
a view from the drop-down list.
•
Notify
Operation
— Sends traps for the assigned SNMP view. If
desired, select a view from the drop-down list.
