Optical Drive 

Dell™ Vostro™ 230 Service Manual—

Mini Tower 

Removing the Optical Drive 

 

1.

Follow the procedures in 

Before Working Inside Your Computer

.  

2.

Remove the 

cover

.  

3.

Remove the 

front bezel

.  

4.

Disconnect the power and data cables from the optical drive. 

  

5.

Remove the screws that secure the optical drive to the computer. 

  

6.

Slide the optical drive out through the front of the chassis and remove the drive from the computer. 

  

Replacing the Optical Drive 

To replace the optical drive, perform the above steps in reverse order.
