Removing the Display Assembly
1.
Follow the instructions in
Before You Begin
.
2.
Remove the center control cover (see
Removing the Center Control Cover
).
3.
Remove the base cover (see
Removing the Base Cover
).
4.
Remove the keyboard (see
Removing the Keyboard
).
5.
Remove the palm rest (see
Removing the Palm Rest
).
6.
Remove the optical drive (see
Removing the Optical Drive
).
7.
Remove the two screws from the computer base.
8.
Make note of the routing guides and remove the antenna cables.
9.
Remove the screw that secures the display cable and disconnect the cable from the system board connector.
10.
Disconnect the camera cable (optional) and the power button cable.
CAUTION:
Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions that shipped with your computer.
NOTICE:
To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such
as a connector on the back of the computer).
NOTICE:
To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before you begin working inside the
computer.
