you try to use your
printer.

Make sure that the printer is turned on.
2.
Check your worksystem and communications software to be sure
that the device is installed and enabled properly.
3.
Check your system software to be sure that the printer is
installed in the software.
4.
Shut down your worksystem software, if necessary, and turn off
the printer and the system unit.
5.
Make sure that the printer power cord is connected to a live
power source.
6.
Make sure that the printer cable connector is correctly attached
to one of the communications connectors on the system unit.
7.
Turn on the system unit and the printer.
If the problem persists, see the manuals for your printer.
Nothing happens
when you try to use a
communications device.
1.
Make sure that the device is turned on.
2.
Shut down your worksystem software, if necessary, and turn off
the device and the system unit.
3.
Make sure that the device power cord is connected to an active
power source.
4.
Make sure that the connector on the communications device cable
is correctly attached to the communications connector or the
communications connector adapter on the system unit.
5.
Make sure that the right type of cable is connected to the device.
Check the guide that came with the device to determine the
proper cables.
6.
Turn on the system unit and the device.
If the problem persists, see the manuals for the device.
