Is my Digital Reader/Writer compatible with Mac OS X?
The ZiO HS Reader/Writers are fully compatible with the latest releases of Mac OS X
(versions 10.0.4 and greater). If you are running a version of Mac OS X prior to 10.0.4,
please contact Apple for an upgrade.
I connected my ZiO HS Reader/Writer to my Macintosh running Mac OS 9.x. Each time
I insert a media card, I see the message:
This disk is unreadable by this computer. Do
you want to initialize the disk?
My only options are:
Eject or Initialize
.
This error may appear if your Mac OS 9.x File Exchange control panel is disabled.
Click
Eject
so you do not format the media. To enable File Exchange, follow these steps:
1.
Click on the Apple icon and select
Control Panels
from the Apple Menu.
2.
Select
Extensions Manager
from the Control Panels drop-down menu.
3.
Scroll to the top of the Extensions Manager window and be sure you’re looking at the
Control Panel section of Extensions Manager.
4.
Click in the small square box at the left side of the File Exchange listing.
This places an
X
in the box and enables the Control Panel.
5.
Restart your Macintosh by clicking the
Restart
button located at the bottom of the
Extensions Manager window.
