1.3.4 Serial communication 

The CO

2

 module, manufactured by Welch Allyn, is used in the Light Monitor for CO

2

 measurement. 

Communication with the host is provided by an asynchronous serial link. Signals used in the 
communication are TXDC and RXDC. The TXDC signal is a transmit line from host to CO

2

 modules 

and the RXDC signal is a receive line from CO

2

 module to host.
