To connect the 4X16SP-1000BT into the network, refer to
FIGURE 4
and follow these steps:
Step 1.
Two 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz power source inlet connections are provided.
Use of the second power source is strongly recommended to assure uninter-
rupted monitoring. Connect both AC power cables into the IEC 320 inlet
connectors, respectively, of the 4X16SP-1000BT Copper Gigabit SPAN
Switch. Plug the power cables into the external power source, furthermore,
connecting the second power cable to a different external power source cir-
cuit than the first power cable eliminates power as a single point of failure.
The front panel

LEDs illuminate indicating power 1 and 2,
respectively, are on. Either LED not illuminated indicates a defective power
source and immediate investigation is required to insure redundant power
integrity.
IMPORTANT:
The maximum length of 100 meters must not be exceeded between end-points.
Step 2.
Connect network cables from the SPAN port of each network device to the
desired 4X16SP-1000BT Copper Gigabit SPAN Switch RJ45 port
