engineer hears some of the main signal. So the channel is not only heard, but also in context. Pressing this
button assigns a channel’s audio signal to the PFL bus. Simultaneously assigning more than one channel to
the PFL bus is possible, while the individual channel’s volume fader setting is not recognized (PRE FADER
LISTEN). Once a PFL button is pressed, the master display automatically enters PFL/PGM mode. This
allows you setting a signal’s correct level or making special EQ-adjustments without the need of including it
in the main mix.

42. PROTECT LED

The red Protect

LED lights when one of the power amplifiers’ extensive protection

functions - against thermal overload, HF-induction, DC at the outputs. When the
Powermix 2 is in protect mode, the speaker outputs are muted and the inputs of the
power amplifier are short-circuited to prevent the amplifiers from being damaged. In
this case you should first check if the frontal and/or rear ventilation louvers are
blocked. Another cause for the activation of the protect functions might be, that you
have connected more than two 8 Ohms speaker systems per power output. Please
also disconnect the SPEAKON connectors and check the speaker cables for short
circuit. During the power-on operation, the PROTECT LED always lights for about two
seconds. This is normal. It indicates that the PowerMix’s protection circuitry is
operational.

43. LIMIT LED

When the red Limit LED blinks, means the internal power amplifiers are operated at
their limits.
Occasional blinking of the LED is acceptable, since the amplifiers’ limiters prevent
distortion. Continuous lighting indicates that degradation in the outputted sound is
likely to happen. In that case, you should reduce the master level.

44. POWER LED

The blue Power LED lights when the PowerMix is turned on. If, after switching the
PowerMix on, the LED does not light, make sure that the mains plug is plugged in
correctly. If the LED still doesn’t light up, please contact your DAP Audio dealer.

45. Phantom Power LED

After switching on the mixer, the yellow LED above the switch must not light up. In this case, both balanced
and unbalanced microphones can be connected. These microphones may be damaged.

46. Phantom Power

You can press this button to turn the

PHANTOM POWER +48 V

on.

Do not connect any unbalanced

microphones with the microphone phantom power switched on. The yellow LED PHANTOM POWER +48 V
(

45

) lights up.
