TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

1)

Surface burners do

not light

• Surface Control knob has not been
completely turned.
• Burner ports are clogged.
• Range power cord is disconnected from
outlet.
• Electrical power outage.

• Push in and turn the Surface Control
knob  until burner ignites and then turn
control knob to desired flame size.
• With the burner off, use a small-gauge
wire or needle to clean ports.
• Be sure cord is securely plugged into
the outlet.
• Burners can be lit manually. Check
house lights to be sure. Call your local
electric company for service.

2) Surface burner
flame burns half way
around

• Burner ports are clogged.
• Moisture is present after cleaning.

• With the burner off, use a small-gauge
wire or needle to clean ports.
• Lightly fan the flame and allow burner
to operate until flame is full. Dry the
burners thoroughly.

3) Surface burner
flame is orange

• Dust particles in main line.
• In coastal areas, a slightly orange flame
is unavoidable due to salt air.

• Allow the burner to operate a few
minutes until flame turns blue.
• This is normal; no action necessary.

4) Poor baking results.

• Many factors affect baking results.
• Be sure regulator gas valve is “ON”.

• Make sure the proper rack position is
used. Center food in the oven and space
pans to allow air to circulate. Allow the
oven to preheat to the set temperature
before placing food in the oven. Try
adjusting the recipes recommended temp.
or baking time

.

• See Installation Instructions.

5) Flames inside oven
or smoking from vent

• Your oven will most likely smoke after
a spillover has occurred.

• This is normal, especially for high oven
temperatures, pie spillovers or large
amounts of grease on oven bottom. Wipe
up excessive spillovers immediately.

6) Oven smokes
excessively during
broiling

• Meat too close to the broil burner.
• Meat not properly prepared.
• Broiler drawer needs to be cleaned.
• Broiler drawer is open.

• Reposition the rack to provide more
clearance between the meat and the broiler.
• Remove excess fat from meat. Slash
remaining fatty edges to prevent curling,
but do not cut into the lean.
• Excessive smoking is caused by a build up
of grease or food spatters. If the broiler is
used often, clean on a regular basis.
• Broiler door should be closed when
broiling.

7) Oven door is
crooked

• The door is out of position.

• Because the oven door is removable, it
can become out of position during
installation. To straighten the door, see
“Care and Cleaning” in this manual.

8) Oven light does not
work

• Replace or tighten bulb.
• Switch operating light is broken.

• See “Care and Cleaning” in this manual.
• Call for Service.
