6 Installation and commissioning
The MicroStreamer-PoE can be installed on ceiling/wall brackets or freely positioned. How-
ever, it must be ensured that the connection panel is freely accessible.

Ensure that the device is securely positioned or mounted.

Disconnect the power supply unit from the mains socket before connect-
ing the device.
Danger of death from lightning strike
Do not connect the video cable during a thunderstorm.
NOTICE
Possible damage to the device caused by inappropriate mounting equip-
ment or incorrect installation.
The length of the tripod screw must not exceed 7 mm.
Pay attention to the manufacturer’s documentation when installing the
device into a weather-proof housing.
If required, mount the MicroStreamer-PoE on a ceiling/wall bracket using the ¼" tripod
socket (

) and an appropriate tripod screw.
Connect the analogue camera with a coaxial video cable to the BNC socket (
D
).
Connect the MicroStreamer-PoE via LAN port (
I
) to the network.
For video preview purposes, connect the delivered adapter cable to the analogue video
preview output (
G
) and a CVBS monitor.
If Power over Ethernet (PoE) is NOT available, proceed as follows:
In order to comply with the UL requirements, you have to use a UL-certified, limited power
source (LPS) Class 2 power supply unit.
Connect the MicroStreamer-PoE via power input terminal (
E
) to an appropriate power
supply unit.
Connect the power supply unit to the mains socket.
The Power LED (
F
) illuminates and the MicroStreamer-PoE boots up.
The MicroStreamer-PoE can be configured via network after approx. 45 seconds.
