14.3.2.3 Focus Control
Only focus control settings of user-definable camera presets can be adjusted.
FOCUS CONTROL
Mode : AUTO
Focus Limit : 15cm
AF Sensitivity : Normal
Execute ONE PUSH
Save and Exit
Mode
AUTO
:
Automatically adjusts the focus position (passive auto focus).
Sufficient illumination and subject contrast for central measurement area are required.
The minimum distance (from the front end of the lens) is
1cm
at the optical wide end.
MANUAL
:
Recommended in low-light conditions and with low contrast subjects or with subjects not
located in the central measurement area.
ONE PUSH
:
Automatic focusing is not carried out until a new trigger command is sent by the user (e.g.
pan, tilt or zoom) or when carrying out
Execute ONE PUSH
.
Focus Limit
This function allows you to limit the focus working range in order to obtain a faster focus-
ing of far distant objects.
The near limit can range from about
4.5m
to
1cm
.
The near limit is the distance the automatic focus control starts to operate from.
Auto focusing is only carried out from the near limit to infinity (∞). Therefore, the lens
takes less time to find the optimal focus. This can be helpful when capturing moving ob-
jects, but is not relevant when capturing static objects.
Note that the near limit values will differ due to temperature characteristics, so use as ap-
proximate values.
The
Infinity
mode overrides the automatic focusing and positions the focus to infinity
(∞). This ensures a sharp and clear reproduction of very distant objects.
AF Sensitivity
(
DDZ4020-YY/HS/HD only
)
Normal
:
Default setting, recommended for scenes with frequently moving objects.
Usually, this is the most appropriate mode.
Low
:
Improves the focus stability in low-light conditions.
Auto-focus is not carried out even when the brightness level changes.
