If you replace a hard disk that the DIS has identified as defective, the new disk must be
activated after the system has been started for the first time.
This activation procedure is carried out in the HDD management configuration dialogue.
To use this function, a so-called Day Password must be entered for security purposes. You
can obtain this from the Dallmeier Support Team by quoting the serial number of the DIS.
NOTE
Request your day password before you install the hard disk in
the sub-rack. Contact the Dallmeier Support Team for this
purpose.
Proceed as follows to activate the new hard disk:

Click on Service in the setup dialogue.
¾
Enter the day password on the virtual keypad.
The HDD management dialogue will appear.
¾
Check the checkbox.
¾
Click on OK.
The hard disk will be activated and the DIS will be restarted automatically.
The new hard disk will be available without any restrictions once it has been formatted.
NOTE
The length of time required to format a hard disk depends on
its size and may take several minutes.
