Damage to the contacts of RJ45 plugs/jacks caused by electrical arcs
Always switch off the used Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) – PoE
switch or PoE injector (midspan device) – and pull out its power plug
before disconnecting a PoE Powered Device (PD, such as the device
described in this document) in order to avoid damage to the contacts
of RJ45 plugs/jacks caused by electrical arcs between the connector
and the plug.
