Requirement
Limit
4 Maximum difference between branch piping
length
Twin: L2–L3≤limit
10 m
Triple: L2–L4≤limit
10 m
Double twin:
▪ L2–L3≤limit
▪ L4–L5≤limit
▪ L6–L7≤limit
▪ (L2+L4)–(L3+L7)≤limit
10 m
5 Maximum height between indoor and outdoor
Pair, twin, triple and double twin: H1≤limit
30 m
6 Maximum height between indoors
Twin, triple and double twin: H2≤limit
0.5 m
(a)
When piping length is <5 m, a complete recharge of the unit is required. If the distance between indoor and outdoor unit is less than 5 m, make
sure that the piping length is more than 5 m by additional bending of the pipes.
Example
If the system layout is as follows…
Then the requirements are…
▪ Triple:
L2
L3
L4
H1
H2
L1
▪ Ø standard
1
5 m≤L1+L4
2
L1+L2+L3+L4≤100 m
3
L2≤20 m
4
L2–L4≤10 m
5
H1≤30 m
6
H2≤0.5 m
If size-up of liquid pipes is used, the indoor unit must be installed on
a lower location than the outdoor unit.

Refrigerant piping insulation
▪ Use polyethylene foam as insulation material:
▪ with a heat transfer rate between 0.041 and 0.052 W/mK (0.035
and 0.045 kcal/mh°C)
▪ with a heat resistance of at least 120°C
▪ Insulation thickness

Humidity
Minimum thickness
≤30°C

>30°C
≥80% RH

WARNING
▪ If the power supply has a missing or wrong N-phase,
equipment might break down.
▪ Establish proper earthing. Do NOT earth the unit to a
utility pipe, surge absorber, or telephone earth.
Incomplete earthing may cause electrical shock.
▪ Install the required fuses or circuit breakers.
▪ Secure the electrical wiring with cable ties so that the
cables do NOT come in contact with sharp edges or
piping, particularly on the high-pressure side.
▪ Do NOT use taped wires, stranded conductor wires,
extension cords, or connections from a star system.
They can cause overheating, electrical shock or fire.
▪ Do NOT install a phase advancing capacitor, because
this unit is equipped with an inverter. A phase
advancing capacitor will reduce performance and may
cause accidents.
WARNING
▪ All wiring MUST be performed by an authorised
electrician and MUST comply with the applicable
legislation.
▪ Make electrical connections to the fixed wiring.
▪ All components procured on-site and all electrical
construction MUST comply with the applicable
legislation.
WARNING
ALWAYS use multicore cable for power supply cables.
