7-3 PIPING PROTECTION
During the period of installation work, perform the protection of piping according to the Table 1 in order to pre-
vent the ingress of moisture, dust, and dirt.
Table 1
CAUTION
Pay the utmost attention to the ingress of dust and dirt in the case of piping through the penetration holes
on the walls or taking out the ends of piping outdoors.
7-4 PIPING CONNECTIONS
• Be sure to perform nitrogen substitution and nitrogen blowing at the time of brazing.
(Refer to Fig. 2)
A large quantity of oxidization film will be generated on the inner surface of piping if brazing is performed
without nitrogen substitution or blowing nitrogen into piping, thus giving an adverse influence on a variety
of valves and the compressor in the refrigerant system and obstructing the normal operation of the air con-
ditioner.
• At the time of brazing with nitrogen being applied, use a reducing valve and set the pressure of nitrogen to
0.02 MPa (approximately 0.2 kg/cm
2
) or below, when the cheek will feel a breeze.
CAUTION
Do not use anti-oxidants when brazing the piping joints. Residue can clog piping and break equipment.
Piping Connections
• Protect part A with a wet cloth at the time of brazing so that the temperature of part A will not exceed 80°C.
