6. BEV UNIT INSTALLATION

• Use only accessories and parts which are of the designated specification when installing.

(1) Temporarily install the BEV unit.

• Mount the hanging fittings to hanging bolts. Secure the

hanging fittings on the top and the bottom with nuts (M8,
field supplied) and washers (M8: Outside diameter size
24 to 28mm) (field supplied).

(2) Adjust the height of the main unit with the nut.

(3) Check that the main unit is installed on the level.

(4) Tighten the nut on both the top and the bottom to fix securely.

7. REFRIGERANT PIPING WORK

To Piping Work Contractors

Do not use flux at the time of brazing and connecting refrigerant pipes. Use phosphorus-copper (BCuP-2)
brazing alloy, which requires no flux.
(Chlorine-based flux causes piping corrosion. Furthermore, if fluoride is contained, the flux will have adverse
influences on the refrigerant piping line, such as the deterioration of refrigerating machine oil.)

7-1 SELECTION OF PIPES

• Refer to the installation manual for the outdoor unit and decide on the size of each pipe and select a suitable

refrigerant branching kit.

• Use the following type of refrigerant pipe.

Material: Phosphorus deoxidized seamless copper pipe (C1220T-1/2H or C1220T-H)
Pipe wall thickness: Product withstanding 12.3 MPa

Pipe wall thickness examples

(length: mm)

• Be sure to use pipes with clean outer and inner surfaces free of contaminants, such as sulfides, oxides,

dust, chip, oil and fat, and moisture.
It is desirable that the adhesion oil in the piping system does not exceed 30mg per 10m.

• Conduct piping work within the maximum permissible length, permissible difference in height, and permis-

sible length after branching specified in “

7-6 PIPING CONNECTION PROCEDURE

”.

7-2 INSTALLATION TOOLS

Be sure to use dedicated tools so that the air conditioner will maintain proper pressure resistance and
the contamination of impurities will be prevented.

Pipe cutter

• Use a cutter suitable to the piping thickness.

Pipe bender

• Use a different elbow sold as an optional accessory if the bending radius needs to be

reduced.

• Use a different elbow sold as an optional accessory for the bending portions of pipes

with a diameter of 15.9mm.

Expander
(pipe expansion tool)

• Use a different socket sold as an optional accessory for pipes with a diameter of

15.9mm, however, due to difficulty in expanding them.
