7. MALFUNCTION AND REMEDY OF DIESEL ENGINE
5-1 Cause and remedy for the engine not being started
CAUSE REMEDY
The weather is cold , machine oil
become more adhesive
Fill machine oil into crankshaft case after
preheated . Fill machine oil into inlet manifold ,
Disassemble the conection belt of matching
machine and then start the diesel engine. Stop
!he engine when !he engine becomes hot and
ressemble !he bel! , Start !he engine again .
Malfunction of fuel system.
The fuel is mixed with water
Clean fuel tank filler and fuel pipe, change fuel.
The fuel become lhickening and
not easy to flow
Use!he specific fuel
There is air in!he fuel system
Drain out !he air and tighten each connector of
fuel pipe .
lnjection fuel is little or no , !he
spray is no! good
Check !he posilion of speed governor handle .
Clean spray nozzle , fuel pump , mainlain or
change the pump or nozzle if necessary .
Combustion is not complete
The spray no zz ie is no! good , delivery angle
is no! corree! , gasket of cylinder head is leaky
and !he pressure of compression is not enough.
Remedy with its cause.

Die se l fuel is too little in !h e fuel tank , Fill !he
Fuel int o the fuel tank , lf the fuel pipe and fuel
filter are obstrucled or leak y, remedy them .
Compre ss ion pres s ure is not
enough in !h e cy linder , !he nut
o f cy lind e r head is no! tighten
o r ga s k e t o f cy linder i s
damaged or leaky .
Tighten the nut of cylinder head , according to
di a gonal line se qu ence and standa rd
requi rement, check g as ket of cylinder , if
changing !he gasket, tighten !he nut of cylinder
Head once again after prerunning !he diesel
engine .
The gap of pisten ring too big
be ca u se of wear
Changa !h e pisten ring
Each gap of pisten rings line up
and cause leakage
Set each gap of pisten al angle of 120 º
The pisten rings are sticked
Seriously or broken
Clean with diesel fuel of change rings.
Gas valves leakage
Grind the gas valves, lf the vestige is too deep,
please send it to factory fer remedy.
The va l v e clearance is not correct
Adjust the clearance as specified.
The valve stem is clipped on
guide pipe
Disassemble the gas va lve and clean the stem
and guide pipe.
