NORMAL
OCCURRENCES
Refer to the table below to find possible solutions to some problems you may experience
with your refrigerator.
Incident
Solution
Odd Noise
Ticking or clicking sound
This is the sound caused by temperature change expanding/
contracting various mechanical parts and control devices
within the refrigerator.
Whirring or motor sound
This is the sound of the refrigerator when the compressor or
fan is starting or ending.
This is similar to the sound generated when starting or
turning off the engine of a car.
Sound of water flowing
This is the sound of refrigerant changing between liquid and
gas.
Whooshing sound when
opening or closing door
This is the sound when the internal pressure temporarily
drops when warm air enters through the refrigerator or
freezer.
Vibrating or humming sound
This is the sound of a refrigerator that is not leveled correctly
and it is touching—vibrating— against a wooden surface or
floor.
Loud motor after initial instal-
lation
This is the sound of the motor to quickly cool the refrigerator.
When you use the refrigerator for the first time, the refrig-
erator will run at high speed to quickly cool. The sound can
seem louder than expected. When the temperature reaches
its setting, the noise will subside.
Doors Open
Door bounces open slightly
after being closed.
Depending on the force or speed the refrigerator or freezer
door is closed, the door can bounce open from the pressure.
Be careful not to close the door too hard.
Ice or Moisture
Ice or condensation on the
inner or outer walls of the
refrigerator.
When external air flows into the cool inner surface of the
refrigerator, ice/condensation can form. This will happen
more easily if you open and close the refrigerator door. Also,
if it is humid, during the rainy season, or on a rainy day,
condensation can form on the outer side of the refrigerator.
This is a natural phenomenon that occurs during humid
weather. Wipe the water drops with a dry cloth.
Exterior
Temperature
The front of the refrigerator
is warm.
Heat pipes are installed around the front of the refrigerator
and on the divider between the freezer and refrigerator to
prevent condensation from forming.
The refrigerator may feel warm immediately after installation
or during a hot summer, but this is not a concern.
